Seedco Financial is a national, nonprofit community development financial institution (CDFI) with over $200 million in assets under management. Working with local partners, Seedco Financial provides affordable Financing and technical assistance to small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and anchor commercial properties in low-income and economically distressed communities.
Position Overview: Working out of New Orleans, Louisiana, the Loan Officer will be responsible for identifying, acquiring, and expanding community development lending opportunities in target markets and promoting Seedco Financial’ s loan services, products and technical assistance resources to prospective borrowers, community organizations, and banks/government agencies to enhance its reputation. The Loan Officer will be responsible for gathering personal information about clients/businesses to ensure that an informed decision is made regarding the credit-worthiness of the borrower and the probability of repayment, packaging loans and submitting to underwriting for review/approval.
Qualifications:
· BS/BA required – MBA preferred
· Minimum 2+ years of lending experience required – formal credit training is a plus
· Strong financial skills and ability to develop and interpret financial statements applied to business accounting and finance principle required
· Superior analytical skills are required
Knowledge of local market including financial institutions, local government, and community organizations

Artist Corps New Orleans Seeks Applicants Fellow Position 2012-2013

ORGANIZATION
Artist Corps New Orleans knows that an excellent education must include access to excellent music instruction. As we work to close the achievement gap and set all students on a path to success in school and in life, we must recognize the necessity of music in the development of the whole child – and the capacity of music to strengthen cognitive and social development, build cultural literacy, instill joy and motivation, and cultivate a lifelong love of learning. Artist Corps New Orleans recruits the highest caliber musicians, engages them in service, and develops these artists as highly effective educators.
POSITION
Artist Corps New Orleans Fellows are embedded as teachers in high-need public schools, where they initiate or strengthen core music programs, build capacity and resources, and work to make music integral to the life of the school. Fellows receive intensive pedagogic training, build a reflective practice, and model civic engagement through community-based music outreach with their students and other community organizations.
As of the 2012-2013 academic year, Artist Corps New Orleans Fellows have the opportunity to pursue teacher certification (K-12 Music) during their service commitment.
Hours:
• Approximately 40 hours/week, including direct music instruction in a public elementary school, ongoing training and development, and additional community-based service through music.
• Breaks aligned with school vacations when possible. Start Date & Availability: Start date June 1, 2012.
• Fellows must complete an intensive 6-week Training Institute prior to the first year of teaching, five days per week from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Fellows must successfully complete all Institute requirements before receiving a teaching placement.
• Applicants must agree that touring and performance schedules will not conflict with this service commitment from June 1, 2012 – June 15, 2013.

IMPORTANT NOTES
• Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree by June 1st, 2012, with a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. All applicants will be required to pass Praxis I and Praxis II (tests given in July 2012) and a background check.
